It's 3 rivers time again, and unsurprisingly, there was little opportunity for photos while sailing a boat constantly for an entire day. Which explains why there are some random ones like this of Dave eating his breakfast.

Believe it or not, this was what Ali looked like BEFORE the race.

And we're off! Alan took Chris's usual spot as third team member this year owing to injury. We missed you Chris.

Some drama. By way of explanation, this year featured the strongest winds we've yet experienced on the race. It was heavy going from the start.

And there were a lot of boats too. Jayann was one of 125 (?) in total.

The Bure bends were very windy. This boat had just overtaken us when we started to plane. It was that windy.

It was so windy that we (and many other boats) decided to take precious time out of the race to put a reef in. We were glad we did.

A number of boats were retired during the race, including this one, on Heigham Sound. We don't know what happened but it looks nasty.

Around about 10pm it started to get dark, but we were already well on our way back to Horning...

Alan complained I'd blinded him with the flash on the previous shot, so I took another without, which totally disguises the fact it's dark.

Race done (yeah, sorry, no photos of that) we took the boats back to the yard, accompanied by Joshy.

This year's dream team. Our result? We were 33rd boat to finish, placing 36th overall (at least 32 boats retired) and first in class. We were in the first start at 11am and crossed the finish line just after 10:30pm the same day. An extraordinary time of less than 12 hours, particularly considering our best so far has been just under 20!
